Postcards
2002
I mailed a super8 camera and sound recorder to friends around the world. Each participant received a package of gear, a list of instuctions and a role of super8 film. After 2 weeks they were to mail on the gear to the next participant and send the shot film and recorded audio back to me. No one met the deadlines, film was lost, the camera jammed, our mental health effected our ability to film or participate and it look much longer than anticipated to finish, both the journey of the package around the world and for me to assemble it.
I managed to catch up with the camera package in 2001 while going through Sweden to Oslo to survey the Fram Museum kayaks, and I watched Josh shoot his film on the train.
The stops were: Victoria, BC, Canada; Cawston, BC, Canada; Winnipeg, MN, Canada; Gaspe, QC, Canada; Olso, Norway; Lund, Sweden; Tsuruga, Japan.
