DIGITAL DIFFUSION
Add some analog imperfection with digital halation.
A camera lens diffusion simulation. It uses the method from the Encyclopedia of Visual Effects, of using a subtracted blur from the original image to simulate the photons going astray in a lens blur. The diffusion blur is then screened on to the original.
Use the diffusion slider to add more or less of the blur, and use the brightness reduce to compensate for the addition of the stray photons. Use it sparingly and it will give you a film halation effect.

Installing
Comes in as a effect. Unzip and drag the fsorvin folder (or the enclosed folder if you already have an fsorvin folder) into your Motion Templates Effects folder, usually located in ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects.
It will appear in FCPX under the VIDEO section of the Effects, under fsorvin -> Finishing.
